Before we abandon RenkuOS completely, can someone please reach out to that other renku platform and ask if they are OK with us using the name RenkuOS?
Maybe we can even make it mutually beneficial.

Shaka444 Someone should do that. But given that they actually trademarked it and it is literally in our area of classification, even if we feel an OS is totally different, I am inclined to believe that are likely willing to defend their IP. Even though I don't think it would lead to confusion that it is the same product, it could still cause confusion were some people may believe that the projects are related. That is what they would want to fight. But it only costs an email. As the owner of the domains, you could reach out to them if you like. Just be prepared for the worst.

We could always keep Renku as the project name, similar to how a lot of systems work. Renku could be the project for our 1.0 release, and then we could come up with a new project name for 2.0.

I would prefer actually tackling a build, choosing apps and putting together an Infrastructure Without getting bogged down by a name or a mascot.
Let that stuff happen a little more organically and naturally.
