Some wishes from my side:
- Fully keyboard controlled. No mouse required.
- zxcvb (previous, play, pause, stop, next) controls á la Winamp
- Modular in general. Like Winamp where most functionality is a plugin.
- Content providers as plugins.
- Playlist can be content from any content provider (for example tracks from Spotify, Tidal, YouTube, local files etc).
- Winamp's Jump to file search/filtering. This is Winamps killer feature!
- Global hotkeys, again like Winamp.
I have a script that catches my keyboard shortcuts so I can control Winamp without having to switch to Winamp itself. How it works is that I redirect [CTRL][ALT] with some keys to Winamp. That way I can skip tracks, play/pause/stop, search (jump to file) and change the volume directly by keyboard shortcut. I could do more but those are the functions that I need. I can also launch/focus/minimize Winamp with a shortcut.
