This is my business domain. I created it with the intention of creating a graph-style CPU. The only previous attempt at such an architecture was an MIT prototype called Monsoon.
The compiler tech to support it did not exist but is very commonplace now. The directed, acyclic graphs created by LLVM or Cranelift, its Rust-based counterpart, are most of what is needed.
